On September 30, 2025, the DISCIMUS of WFL·LG hosted an innovative Western dining etiquette workshop, providing students preparing to study in Germany with a vivid cross-cultural practical lesson.

Under the professional guidance of foreign instructors, students systematically studied every aspect of Western dining etiquette. From the order of placing cutlery and the proper use of knives and forks, to napkin etiquette and the correct way to hold wine glasses, and further to posture and conversational manners during meals—every detail carries profound cultural significance.

After completing the theoretical training, the students immediately put their knowledge into practice. During a formal four-course Western dining experience, they gracefully handled cutlery and engaged in appropriate conversation, demonstrating a thorough mastery of the skills they had learned. One participant remarked, “This experience taught me that the essence of etiquette lies in respect and consideration. It has given me greater confidence about my upcoming study abroad journey.”

This event not only equipped students with practical dining etiquette but also deepened their understanding of Western social customs through the lens of culinary culture, laying a solid cultural foundation for their future study abroad experiences. The DISCIMUS of WFL·LG will continue to organize such cross-cultural activities, empowering students to confidently step onto the global stage.
